Hi, You can go for either Infocus or Optoma, these are one of the best projectors. You can also go for other brands but my personal choice would be the above two. There are two types of projector technology. One is DLP and the other is LCD. DLP has a very little advantage over and above LCD. So my suggestion for a projector would be
• DLP technology • 2000 ANSI lumens - minimum • WXGA resolution (if this is above your budget go for XGA) • 2000:1 contrast ratio - minimum The above config will give you a good viewing. One more thing check the bulb life also. Coming to projector screen. you can use any of your walls if it is white or offwhite. If you are going for screen there are 2 types. One is electrically operated and the other is manual. In Manual you have one which has a stand and you can pull down and the other is you have to mount on a wall. SO depending on your budget you can choose one. Hope this helps.... |

The projector choices above are acceptable, but they are not any where near the best. Most people can't even come close to affording not only the best, but the ten other models below it, so I'll leave that alone and say "In Focus" between the two.
If you want any kind of decent viewing, you will need a screen. Also, you will need a screen based on the lumens, lux, or candlepower, of your projector, and the ambient light in your room. The projector store should be able to counsil you on this, or post another question here after you pick a projector, and we'll help |
