Hi,

Saggy the line doubler is an equipment which takes the normal signal from the composite video and tries interpolate the missing lines (the horizontal and vertical) and doubles it !! or in a simple terms it takes a conventional interlaced signal and converts it to prograssive signal (with various outputs including HDMI) !

These are called the line doublers and used widely in US and other countries for the improving SD signal and other purposes !
