Default The Benq V2400W - the thinnest screen?

The Benq V2400W has a distinction from all other LCD monitors to be the world’s most slimmest LCD monitors. Other distinction is that the thickest point of this monitor measures just 24mm. It has an elusive LED with overall black-mirror finish and aerodynamic curves which makes the design look very cool. BenQ V2400W has HDMI with HDCP, DVI-D and VGA inputs. It has BenQ's proprietary Senseye+photo Human Vision Technology for enhancing the color quality and is NSTL-compliant. It has a response time of 4ms and the contrast ratio is 4000:1.

Design

BenQ V2400W has a light gray foot stand which is 13.3 inches wide and 5.3 inches deep. The stand is so well designed that connections can be made very easily. The gray stand matches with black-mirror finish of the LCD and gives it a stylish and an elegant look.

BenQ should prefer a matte look as a mirror finish is prone to glares and can be very annoying at times and it catches fingerprints very quickly which look very awful.

As discussed above there is one LED which is programmed to be always on. But the irony is that this LED is not an indication of any button. So, when it would be very difficult to search buttons in dark as the buttons are not protruding out of the unit. So, in dark you need to just keep moving your finger near the LED and hope that it touches one of OSDs. All of OSD buttons light up when you touch any of them but there is no option for keeping the lights on permanently. However, the menu is fairly easy to use when its visible. Brightness, contrast, and color temperature controls are represented. Brightness and contrast are having arrow keys as hot keys. So, brightness and contrast can be adjusted immediately without even scrolling menus.

The resolution of screen is 1,920x1,200 and contrast ratio is 4000:1. The head phone jack is towards the left side of the screen and is completely hidden when viewing the screen from front. But when you have to insert or remove a head phone, you’ll have to rotate the entire screen. This is the compromise in ease which BenQ has made for style.

Performance

BenQ V2400W’s screen has great contrast ratio and beats all its nearest rivals in brightness. However, when it comes to brightness the BenQ V2400W is defeated by its closest rivals from Dell. But the rival which beats this LCD monitor from BenQ is quite expensive. The sharpness of the screen is superb and watching a movie on this LCD monitor is really a great experience. BenQ V2400W has a great ability to display deep blacks. The Senseye+photo Human Vision Technology is great and if there is some sunny scene, it really looks natural and so colorful. Its screen is simply awesome.

Price

BenQ V2400W will not burn a hole in your pocket. Its sold for $500 on most websites. But, if you search for more deals you can also find deals till $400. This price is not just for US, BenQ V2400W is released in Europe, Australia and most countries of Asia for almost the same price.
